A balance bike, or run bike is a training bicycle that helps children learn to balance and steering; they have no pedals and therefore no drivetrain.

Balance bikes are aimed at children from 18 months through to 5 years of age, and given that they’re not that expensive, they’re are certainly one of the better investments a parent can make.

Right now we’re bringing together what we feel are Australia’s leading ‘quality’ balance bikes options, and while this is not a head to head review, each product will be reviewed on its own merits and consumers can decide which one best fits their needs.

As a prelude to our upcoming reviews, the above video from Strider provides a great overview of the benefits of balance bikes.
